Being found
Search, AI and Shopping
How the product reads in results, and what Google and assistants are told.
The search listing
The description and keywords search engines read, or the Yoast fields
no stored settingsWithout Yoast SEO, the Search Engine Listing card holds the SEO Description ( with a 160 character counter ), SEO Keywords, a Post Excerpt and a Post Featured Image, the last two commonly used in search results and social shares.
With Yoast SEO active, a Yoast SEO card takes its place and saves to Yoast on the product’s page: a search result preview, SEO title, Meta description, Focus keyphrase, Show in search results and Canonical URL. Readability, schema and social previews stay in the WordPress editor.
The product’s address is the link slug on the General tab. Lock it once a product is live, so a title edit does not change an address search engines have indexed.
⚠️ Careful: Changing the slug on an established product changes an address search engines have indexed and customers have saved. Lock the link slug on the General tab once a product is live.
Search & AI
What Google and AI assistants read about this product
no stored settingsThe Search & AI card holds what search engines need to match the product: the Barcode ( GTIN, UPC, EAN or ISBN ), a Manufacturer part number when there is no barcode, and the Condition. A barcode is checked as you type, for its length and its check digit. Tick the box for a handmade, custom or one-of-a-kind product and Google stops asking for one. Variations keep their own barcodes on the Options tab.
Beside the fields a Checklist reads the saved product: name and description, images, price, brand, barcode or part number, variations with their own price and stock, and reviews. Preview what Google reads shows the product data your page gives search engines and AI assistants, and Test in Google opens Google’s rich results test for the page.
💡 Note: Store-wide product data, returns, shipping times and the Google product feed are set under Settings › Marketing › Search & AI. For a step by step walkthrough, see How to Share Your Products with Google and AI Search.
Google Merchant
Product feed attributes for Google Shopping
no stored settingsThe Google Merchant card ( PRO ) maps the product into your Google Shopping feed: whether it is in the feed, its feed title, Google product category and product type, availability and dates, gender, age group and size details, color, material and pattern, shipping size and handling time, and the certification and energy classes some categories need. A link at the top opens Google’s list of valid values.
Feeds are strict about required attributes, and a product missing one is rejected rather than shown, so complete this properly for anything you send to Shopping.
Marketing
Tags, links and extensions
What happens to buyers, and ways to send people straight to the cart.
Email marketing, cart links and extensions
Tags for buyers, a shareable add-to-cart link, and cards from extensions
no stored settingsWhen MailerLite, Kit or ActiveCampaign is connected, PRO adds an Email marketing card with one picker per service: MailerLite groups and Kit tags for buyers who joined your newsletter, and ActiveCampaign tags for every buyer. Type to search, or create a new tag or group on the spot. It saves with the Save button.
The Cart Links card makes a shareable link that adds this product to the cart, with a quantity and, where the product has options, the choice already picked. Links with several products, coupon codes or limits are built in Marketing.
Extensions add their own cards here, such as Facebook & Instagram for your Meta catalog, and Email Marketing for Mailchimp tags.
💡 Note: The services themselves are connected under Settings › Marketing › Email marketing. For a step by step walkthrough, see How to Connect Email Marketing.
