Reading the store
Range and the free tabs
Setting the period, then the Overview and Taxes tabs every store has.
Date range, comparison and filters
The period every number on the page is built from
no stored settingsEverything on Reports answers to the toolbar, so set it first. Date range offers Today, Yesterday, Last 7, 30 and 90 days, This and Last month, This and Last quarter, This and Last year, Last 12 months, or a Custom range. Compare to adds Previous period or Same dates last year, which puts a change against each figure and a second series on each chart. Same dates last year strips out the season, which for most stores is the more honest question.
Group by buckets the charts by day, week, month or year, and the two buttons beside it draw them as lines or bars. The filters narrow the whole page: one product, Ships to a country, or Billed in a country. Ships to is about logistics and demand; billed in follows the payment address, which is the one that matters for tax.
Days are your store’s own calendar days in its time zone, daylight saving included, and a range never runs past today. A sale belongs to the day the order was placed, a refund to the day it was given, and money received to the day it was paid.
Overview
Sales, orders, customers and money in and out
no stored settingsThe free Overview tab opens with a few takeaways in plain words, such as your best day, whether sales are up or down on the comparison, and how many customers ordered for the first time. Then the figures:
Sales is order totals, on the day each order was placed. Net sales is sales less refunds given in the range. Received is the payments taken in the range, whenever the order was placed, which is the figure to reconcile against your payment provider. Refunds are those given in the range. Orders, Average order and Items sold are the volume. Customers counts people, one per email address, guests included, and says how many ordered for the first time. Visits and Abandoned carts show what did not convert. Shipping, Taxes, Discounts, Fees and Tips break out the rest.
Charts for sales, orders and items sold follow. Filtered to one product, shipping, taxes, discounts, fees and refunds are left off, because they belong to whole orders.
💡 Note: Sales and Received are different questions. Sales follows the day an order was placed; Received follows the day money arrived. Judge the store on sales, reconcile with your payment provider on received.
Taxes
Tax collected, by type and by place
no stored settingsThe free Taxes tab totals Tax collected on orders placed in the range, split into the types your store charges, sales tax, VAT, GST, PST, HST and duty, alongside Items less discounts and any Tax refunded.
Tax by place lists country and state or region, with orders, sales and each tax. The place is where the order shipped, or its billing address when nothing shipped. For a filing, the tax report under Export lists every order.
For a step by step walkthrough, see Set Up Sales Tax and VAT.
💡 Note: Tax setup behind these figures lives under Settings › Payments & Taxes › Taxes. Use the billed-in filter when you file in more than one place.

The PRO tabs
Products and customers, the shopper journey, and fulfillment and subscriptions.
Products, Customers, Codes and Profit
Pro tabs: what sells, who buys, and what you keep
no stored settingsProducts ranks every product by sales, with views, add to cart, cart rate, units, orders, conversion, stock and days of stock left at the last 30 days’ pace, plus the top variations and the products in the store that have not sold in 60 days.
Customers splits new from returning, gives the repeat rate, orders per customer and lifetime value, lists your top customers, and shows monthly cohorts: of the customers whose first order fell in a month, how many came back one, two and more months later. Codes shows the orders that used a code, the discount given and the sales behind it, per coupon and per offer.
Profit takes product cost and discounts from sales, per product, with gross profit and margin. Products with no cost saved are counted as all profit and totalled in Sales with no cost, so add costs on the product or its variations and the figure firms up from the next order.
For a step by step walkthrough, see How to Find Your Best Products, Customers and Sources.

💡 Note: Without PRO, each of these tabs shows your own top row and a count, with the rest locked. Nothing is lost: the figures are worked out from orders you already have.
Carts, Sources and Searches
Pro tabs: how shoppers arrive, browse and drop off
no stored settingsCarts draws the checkout funnel, viewed the cart, started checkout, reached payment and placed the order, then abandoned carts, the value left in them, what reminders brought back and when, the products most left behind, and why card payments failed.
Sources credits orders to where the shopper came from: visits, orders, sales, conversion and average order per source, AI assistants included, and orders by device. Credit the first visit or the latest one. Searches lists what shoppers search for in your store, and the searches that found nothing: products to add, or words to put in a title or description.
Visits, product views, the funnel and searches are counted by Store activity, under Settings › Integrations, and only after a shopper allows statistics cookies when cookie consent is on. Store admins signed in to WordPress are never counted, so test in a private browser window.
For a step by step walkthrough, see How to Recover Abandoned Carts.
⚠️ Careful: Visits, views and searches start counting when store activity is on, and only from then. If these tabs read zero, check Store activity and cookie consent under Settings › Advanced › Integrations.
Fulfillment and Subscriptions
Pro tabs: how fast you ship, and what recurs
no stored settingsFulfillment measures the time from payment to shipping: the typical and average time, the share shipped within a day and within two days, and what is waiting now, aged from under a day to over a week. Waiting longest lists those orders, and Packages by carrier counts packages, deliveries and average time in transit.
Subscriptions gives monthly recurring revenue, each active subscription turned into a monthly amount, with active, new and cancelled subscriptions, churn ( cancelled divided by those active when the range began ) and a breakdown by plan.

Exports and the summary email
Getting the numbers out as CSV, saving set-ups, and having them emailed to you.
Tables, views and exports
Sorting, downloading, and keeping a set-up you use often
no stored settingsEvery table sorts by any column with a click on its heading, and its CSV button downloads exactly what it shows. Long tables show the top rows with Show all.
Export › Orders and taxes gives three CSV files for the dates and filters on the page: the Main report, every order with totals, fees and taxes; the Compare range report, the same for the range you compare against; and the Tax report, tax per order grouped the way filings ask for it.
With PRO, Views saves the tab, range, comparison, grouping and filters under a name, so a rolling range such as Last 30 days stays rolling. Research export builds CSV files of every order, line, payment, refund and customer and the daily store activity, for a spreadsheet or analysis tool. Customers are named by a code made for your store, never by email or name, and times are in UTC.
💡 Note: Exports follow the range and filters on screen. Set the page up first, rather than filtering the file afterwards.
Summary email
The numbers, in your inbox, without opening the admin
no stored settingsReports offers to email you the numbers every week: sales, orders, refunds and new customers, compared with the week before. Turn on takes one click, and No thanks hides the offer. Summary email in the header opens the settings at any time.
Tick Email me a summary, choose How often and who it goes to; separate addresses with commas, or leave it empty for the site admin. Send a test sends one now. The free plugin sends weekly; with PRO you can choose daily or monthly too, and Also include adds top products, top codes, carts brought back, top sources and low stock.
