Counting it
Stock and history
How stock is tracked, how much a shopper may buy, and where every unit went.
Stock and purchase limits
Whether stock is tracked, how much there is, and how much one shopper may buy
no stored settingsTrack Quantity has three answers: Do NOT Track Quantity, Track Overall Quantity with one Total In Stock number, or Track Variation Quantity, where each option combination has its own count. With variation tracking the total is worked out for you, and Edit Variation Stock jumps to the variations table on the Options tab.
Not tracking is the right answer for made-to-order goods, services and downloads. Choose it on purpose rather than by accident: the two look the same on the storefront until you want a stock report.
Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity limit how many one shopper can put in the cart, which is what you reach for on limited releases and anything bought for resale. A reorder point for the product is set on the Inventory screen.
💡 Note: The store-wide low stock threshold and stock alerts are set under Settings › Cart & Checkout › Checkout. For a step by step walkthrough, see How to Manage Inventory and Stop Overselling.
Stock history
Every sale, restock and adjustment for this product
no stored settingsThe Stock history card ( PRO ) lists every stock change on this product: the date, the change, the stock after it, the reason and who made it. Sales show the order they came from, and for a product tracked per variation each line names the variation, so you see which size went rather than only that something did. Open Inventory goes to the full inventory screen.
Having it on the product is what makes it useful in a conversation. When somebody asks why the product shows three when the shelf has one, the answer is on the screen you already have open.
💡 Note: The same movements appear across the catalog in Inventory Report, where they can be filtered and exported.

Shipping, packing and customs
What carriers need to quote a correct rate, and what goes on the label.
Shipping and package size
Whether it ships, handling costs, weight and dimensions
no stored settingsThe Shipping card decides how the product ships. Enable Shipping off is right for downloads and services. Exclude from Shipping Calculation keeps it out of the rate while still shipping it. A third switch ships to the billing address and hides the shipping address whenever the product is in the cart. Allow Backorders lets shoppers buy when stock runs out, with an Expected Delivery Date to tell them when.
One-Time Handling Cost and Handling Cost Each Item add to shipping, and Restrict Shipping for this Product ( PRO ) limits it to chosen zones.
Packaging Dimensions holds the weight, width, height and length that live carrier rates quote from. A product with no weight returns no rate or a wrong one, and carriers also price on size, so a light but bulky item quoted on weight alone costs you the difference on every order.
⚠️ Careful: Live carrier rates cannot quote without a weight. If you use live rates, a product missing its weight shows no shipping option or the wrong price, and the shopper finds out at checkout.
Customs and packing
Which box it packs in, and what customs forms say about it
no stored settingsThe Customs and packing card is used to split orders into boxes and to fill in customs forms on shipping labels.
Packs in is normally The best box for the order ( automatic ). Pick Ships in its own box ( one per item ) for something that never shares a box, or always use one box from your box library. HS tariff code ( for example 6109.10 ), Country of origin and Customs description ( what it is and what it is made of, such as Cotton t-shirt ) go on the customs declaration for international parcels. A product with no country of origin uses the store default.
💡 Note: The box library the Packs in list comes from is set under Settings › Shipping › Shipping settings, in Boxes and packing.
