PayFast Payment Settings

PayFast is a great payment solution offered for South African merchants. What’s even better? Setup is super quick and easy — five short steps and you’re accepting payments.

Connect PayFast in Five Steps

Everything happens in one panel — grab two values from your PayFast dashboard and you’re nearly done.

1

Open the Payment Settings

Navigate to the WP EasyCart › Settings › Payment page.

2

Select PayFast as Your Third Party Gateway

PayFast is a Third Party Gateway. If you have PayPal selected, you must deselect it first — then choose PayFast from the drop down box.

3

Enter Your Merchant ID & Merchant Key

From your account dashboard you can get your Merchant ID and Merchant Key. Enter these in the PayFast setup.

4

Optional — Add a Salt Passphrase

Add a ‘salt passphrase’ to your account for an extra layer of security. This value must be entered EXACTLY as you enter it into the WP EasyCart PayFast setup.

5

Choose Sandbox or Live Mode

Pick Sandbox or Live mode from the drop down box. That is it — you are ready to accept payments!

One Last Thing — Set Your Currency

PayFast has one hard requirement on currency, and it takes seconds to satisfy.

South African Rand Only

Payments are ONLY accepted in South African Rand. To complete setup, go to the WP EasyCart › Settings › Initial Setup page and update the currency information there — if you haven’t already — to match this requirement.

Ready to Sell in Rand?

Five steps and a currency check — that’s all it takes. If anything in your PayFast setup isn’t clicking, our support team is happy to help.
