Account Settings

Control every part of how a shopper signs up for an account — on the WordPress account page and right in the checkout flow. These settings shape both experiences at once.

Account Options

Control exactly how shoppers sign up, sign in, and manage account details.

  • Require Terms Agreement (Enable for GDPR Compliance): Require shoppers to accept your terms when they create an account, rather than per order. State all your GDPR compliance information in your terms and have your policies established to follow GDPR.
  • Require Billing Information on Registration: Require billing address details when a shopper creates an account. Checkout already collects this automatically — this extends the requirement to the account page too.
  • Enable Email Validation: Send an email shoppers must confirm before their account activates — useful if spam sign-ups pile up. Please be aware this could increase abandoned carts, since shoppers must validate before they can check out, so we leave this off by default.
  • Enable Google Recaptcha V2: Add Google’s v2 captcha to the account area for creating accounts or signing in — it doesn’t appear during checkout, since a purchase already verifies a real shopper. Create your simple 2-key system at the Google Recaptcha admin.
  • Show Manage Subscription Menu Item: Add a convenient link in the account menu for managing recurring payment subscriptions — update card on file, cancel subscriptions, and view past payments. Only applies if you use Stripe with Recurring Payments.
  • Enable User Notes on Registration: Give shoppers an open text field to leave notes when they register.
  • Enable Subscribe Checkbox: Collect a shopper’s name and email for your newsletter list — especially useful alongside MyMail Newsletter or MailChimp. View and export subscribers any time in WP EasyCart › Users › Subscribers.
  • Subscription Renewals Match First Order Billing & Shipping: Checked, subscription renewals reuse the address from the customer’s first order. Unchecked, renewals use whatever billing/shipping address is currently on the account.

💡 Heads Up: Email validation is off by default for a reason — requiring shoppers to confirm their address before checkout tends to raise abandoned-cart rates. Weigh spam prevention against a slightly bumpier checkout before turning it on.
