Shipping Options
Shipping in EasyCart is cart-based and endlessly flexible. No single product has to carry its own carrier, rate, or method — but you can still layer on a special handling fee right here on the product panel.
Editing Shipping Options
Turn shipping on or off per product, then decide exactly how each one behaves at checkout.
- Enable Shipping: Every product can calculate shipping in the shopping cart — enable or disable it per product as needed.
- Exclude from Shipping Calculation: The item still collects a shipping address at checkout, but its cost can be left out of the shipping calculation entirely.
- Disable Shipping Address & Ship to Billing Address: Turn this on and this one item forces the order to the billing address, skipping shipping address collection during checkout — often more secure, and required for some shipment insurance policies.
- Allow Backorders: Customers can purchase the product even after inventory runs out. They’ll see a Backorder button instead of Add to Cart, plus an expected delivery date underneath it.
Handling Fees & Shipping Zones
Stack on extra charges, or lock a product to the zones you actually serve.
- One-Time Handling Cost: A flat charge added once to the final shipping total. Some stores label the cart section ‘Shipping,’ others ‘Shipping & Handling’ — either way, it lands in the same spot in the cart. Using it on a subscription requires shipping enabled globally, shipping enabled on subscriptions (Settings › Shipping Settings), and shipping enabled on the product.
- Handling Cost Each Item: An extra charge that scales with quantity ordered — a $5.00 handling fee with 3 items in the cart charges $15 in handling. The same subscription requirements apply: shipping enabled globally, on subscriptions, and on the product.
- Restrict Shipping by Zone: Lock this product’s shipping to a specific zone. Build zones in Settings › Shipping Settings to define your own coverage areas — handy when one product only ships domestically while others ship worldwide.
