Sell Membership Content on WordPress
WP EasyCart’s membership system lets customers purchase a subscription and unlock content you provide — videos, music, downloads, PDFs, e-books, and more. Build your content pages with your own page builder, then lock them down in a few clicks.
Selling Subscriptions & Memberships
Step one is selling your product as a membership or a subscription. You can offer a regular product too — but most stores sell a membership, since users need both an account and a purchase to get access. Knowing the difference between the two matters.
- Membership: Access to an area of your website — most likely a page. This could be premium content, membership content, or anything else you want to gate behind a one-time payment or an active subscription.
- Subscription: An actual product where the user makes recurring payments. Using our WP EasyCart Stripe payment system, you can create weekly, monthly, or yearly subscriptions, and EasyCart handles the rebilling and recurring payments for you. This is the payment product — you can tie it to a membership content page, or let it stand entirely on its own.

Creating Membership Content
Next, offer the unique material or content itself. Create a new WordPress page as usual, then use the EasyCart sidebar to secure it — you get 3 ways to restrict who can view it.
- Option 1 — Restrict by Product: Select every product you want to restrict by. A customer needs a past purchase of one of those products in their order history to view the content. That product can be a one-time purchase, or, if it’s a subscription, it must be active for the user to keep access.
- Option 2 — Restrict by User: Build custom content for a handful of customers by multi-selecting exactly which users get access.
- Option 3 — Restrict by User Role: Use our user role system instead — any customer with a matching role gets access. Learn more about User Roles here.
WP EasyCart — Membership Content Restrict & Redirect Settings

Set Up Redirects
Send visitors exactly where they should go, based on their login and access status. Remember — access to this secure member page is still governed by Options 1, 2, and 3 above. Redirects are optional and simply help you route users to the right next step.
- (Required) Not Logged In + Not Authorized: Send the user to a purchase page or login page — most likely your account page. This one should always be entered.
- Logged In + Authorized: The user should be able to access this page — leave this empty in most cases so they simply see the content. Optional, and most often left blank.
- Logged In + Not Authorized: Send the user to an upsell page to buy access to this page. Optional, and most often left blank.
Turn Your Content Into Recurring Revenue
Build the subscription, lock the page, and let WP EasyCart handle the billing while you focus on the content.
