AvaTax is a popular extension that allows you to get live tax rates from their tax lookup system. The connection is easy to setup and requires a simple API account ID and API license key to get started. Let Avalara – AvaTax extension do the heavy lift of your tax lookups for each customer order.
Installation Steps
Download and Install the plugin from https://www.wpeasycart.com/premium-members-page/ premium members area. The download, like all other plugins, will be a .zip format file. Upload the plugin to your WordPress -> plugins panel using the ‘add new‘ and ‘upload‘ button.
Create a Avalara API Key

Add API Key to EasyCart AvaTax Settings
Next, you will navigate to your WP EasyCart -> Settings -> Tax setup panel. A special panel will be here when you have the plugin activated for Avalara – AvaTax. You can choose between production and sandbox mode. The API Account ID and License Key will go into the appropriate locations. A default tax code can be applied to all products if you have a blanket product line of items all falling within the same code. Individualized Product Tax Codes
IF you have a tax code that is covering all products, that is simply entered above in your AvaTax setup panel. But if you want to individualized each product with unique tax codes, you can edit any product and will find a AvaTax section within the Tax Setup of each item. As you can see below, the item should be ‘Product is Taxable’ and you may enter the tax code in the appropriate location. You can view the tax codes here: https://taxcode.avatax.avalara.com/
