## Analytics & ads at a glance

How the page is laid out, from consent to what one order sends.

### The page at a glance

Consent first, then each tag in three steps, then what your Reports count

Analytics & ads is where Google, Meta and your affiliate network are told what happens in your store, and where you decide whether shoppers must agree first. The line under the title says what runs now, such as **No analytics or ads tag runs on your store**, and whether tags wait for shoppers.

**First: do shoppers have to agree?** comes first, because it decides whether every tag below may run. Then a card for each tag, **Google Analytics 4**, **Google Ads** and **Meta Pixel**, each in three steps: **On every page** ( the ID that loads the tag ), **Also from your server** ( for Google Ads, **Count purchases** ) and **Check it’s working**. Each step says where to find the ID in Google or Meta, and its **Add** or **Change** button opens that tag’s box under **Every setting**, with all of its rows shown. Once a tag is set, **Check your store page** opens your store as a shopper would and reports whether the tag was found.

**Affiliates** holds ShareASale and AffiliateWP ( a Premium extension ), and **What your Reports count** holds the two free switches for your own Reports. Beside the cards, **What one order sends** lists what each tag receives for one purchase, with the shopper’s yes and without it. **Recent changes here** at the bottom keeps 30 days of changes with Undo.

![Settings › Marketing › Analytics & ads, with consent first and What one order sends beside it.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-overview-607.jpg)

> **💡 Note:** Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and ShareASale need PRO; without it their cards say what each does. Cookie consent, order sources and store activity are free. These settings used to be on Settings › Advanced › Integrations, which now links here.

*First*

## Do shoppers have to agree?

The choice that decides whether every tag on the page may run.

### Cookie consent

Wait for the shopper to agree before ads and analytics tags run

**Ask before tracking** ( default: Load tags without asking )

The same choice as the first card. Load tags without asking is Don’t ask. Follow my cookie banner ( find it automatically ), WP Consent API, Cookiebot, CookieYes and Complianz are Ask, through my cookie banner. Google Consent Mode v2 ( set by my cookie banner ) is Google Consent Mode. Until the shopper accepts, the Meta Pixel and Google tags do not load, order sources are not recorded and no server events are sent. Checkout and newsletter sign-up work either way. A note under the choice says which banner was found on your site.

![First: do shoppers have to agree? Three ways, and a note on the banner found.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-consent-607.jpg)

> **💡 Note:** The card offers three ways. **Don’t ask**: every tag runs for every shopper. **Ask, through my cookie banner**: tags wait for the answer of Complianz, CookieYes, Cookiebot or any banner that supports the WP Consent API; **Which banner** then offers **Find it for me** or a named banner. **Google Consent Mode**: Google tags load at once and follow your banner’s answer, and Meta waits. Consent never blocks buying.

*The tags*

## Google and Meta

Each tag on every page, from your server, and checked. PRO.

### Google Analytics 4

GA4 ecommerce events on the storefront, plus the retired Universal Analytics tag

**GA4 measurement ID** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The G-XXXXXXXXXX ID from your GA4 web data stream. With it set, the store loads the Google tag on its pages and sends view item, add to cart, checkout and purchase events, so GA4 shows revenue by product and source.

**Send events through Google Tag Manager** ( default: Off; PRO )

Pushes the same ecommerce events to the dataLayer for your Google Tag Manager container instead of calling the Google tag directly. Use it only if your container already loads GA4, or nothing reaches Analytics.

**Also send events from the server** ( default: Off; PRO )

Also posts view, add to cart, checkout and purchase events from your server to a server-side Tag Manager container, so they are recorded when a browser blocks tracking. It needs all three values below.

**Measurement ID for server events** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The measurement ID of the GA4 data stream your server container sends the events to. Required.

**Measurement Protocol API secret** ( default: Empty; PRO )

Create one under the data stream’s Measurement Protocol API secrets. It is only ever sent from your server.

**Server container URL** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The address of your server-side Tag Manager container, for example https://gtm.example.com. Server events go only there, and the container passes them on to Google.

**Universal Analytics tracking ID (retired)** ( default: Empty )

The old UA- property. Google stopped processing Universal Analytics data in 2024, so leave it empty. While one is saved, the Google Analytics 4 card says so with **Remove it**.

> **💡 Note:** Step by step: [How to Set Up Google Analytics 4 Purchase Tracking](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/docs/how-to-guides/how-to-set-up-google-analytics-4-purchase-tracking/).

### Google Ads

Conversion tracking and remarketing on the order success page

**Google Ads tag ID** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The AW-XXXXXXXXX ID from Google Ads › Tools › Data manager › Google tag. It loads the Google tag on store pages and builds remarketing audiences.

**Conversion ID** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The older conversion tag’s numeric ID. While it is saved, purchases go through Google’s older conversion script on the order confirmation page instead of the Google tag. Leave it empty on a new setup, and use Move to the Google tag to retire it.

**Conversion label** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The conversion label of your Purchase conversion action. With the tag ID and this label, each order’s total and order number go to Google Ads as a conversion through the Google tag, once the shopper agrees when you ask first. Google counts an order once, however often the page is seen.

**Conversion currency** ( default: USD; PRO )

The three-letter currency code reported with the conversion value. Match it to your store currency.

**Conversion tag purpose** ( default: Count conversions; PRO )

Count conversions records each sale. Remarketing only records the visit for audience building and sends no conversion.

**Conversion language** ( default: en; PRO )

Used only by the older conversion script. Leave it at en.

**Conversion format** ( default: 3; PRO )

Used only by the older conversion script. 3 shows the shopper no notification.

**Conversion pixel color** ( default: ffffff; PRO )

Six hex digits without the #, used only by the older conversion script.

![The Google Ads card: on every page, count purchases, check it’s working.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-google-ads-607.jpg)

![The Google Ads box, all rows shown, the older conversion tag’s rows included.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-google-ads-box-607.jpg)

> **💡 Note:** Purchases go to Google Ads through the Google tag: add the tag ID and the conversion label of your Purchase conversion action, and each order’s total and number are sent once the shopper agrees. A store that still has an older conversion tag saved sees **An older conversion tag is saved** with **Move to the Google tag**: one click fills in the tag ID from it if none is saved and clears the older fields, so purchases are counted once, through the Google tag. Step by step: [How to Track Google Ads and Meta Conversions](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/docs/how-to-guides/how-to-track-google-ads-and-meta-conversions/).

### Meta Pixel

Facebook and Instagram ads tracking, from the browser and from your server

**Pixel ID** ( default: Empty; PRO )

The Pixel ID from Meta Events Manager › Data sources. It adds the Meta Pixel to store pages and sends product views, searches, add to cart, checkout, payment, sign-up and purchase events, using the product IDs your catalog uses.

**Load the Pixel on every page** ( default: Off; PRO )

Loads the Pixel on every page of the site, not only store, cart and account pages, so audiences and page view counts are complete.

**Match events to shoppers** ( default: On; PRO )

Sends a hashed email and customer ID with the Pixel once a shopper is signed in or has entered their email, so Meta can credit more sales to your ads. Server events send the customer details hashed too.

**Also send events from your server** ( default: Off; PRO )

Sends every event through the Conversions API from your server as well, with the same event IDs as the Pixel. Meta still counts a sale when a browser blocks the Pixel, and counts each one only once.

**Conversions API access token** ( default: Empty; PRO )

Generate it in Meta Events Manager › your Pixel › Settings › Conversions API. It is only ever sent from your server. When the Facebook & Instagram extension is connected, server events use that connection’s token instead.

**Test event code** ( default: Empty; PRO )

From Meta Events Manager › Test events. While a code is set, server events show there so you can check them. Clear it once you have.

**Limited Data Use** ( default: Off; PRO )

Asks Meta to process events from US states with consumer privacy laws under Limited Data Use. Turn it on if your privacy policy promises it.

![The Meta Pixel box, with the Conversions API rows and Send a test event.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-meta-box-607.jpg)

> **💡 Note:** With server events on, the box also shows the latest server events and **Send test event**, which sends a PageView from your server with your test event code so you can check the token in Events Manager › Test events. The card’s **Test events** button opens it.

*Partners and Reports*

## Affiliates and your own counts

ShareASale, then where orders come from and the daily counts behind Reports.

### ShareASale

Affiliate sale tracking on the order success page

**Report sales to ShareASale** ( default: Off; PRO )

Loads the ShareASale tracking pixel on store pages and records each paid order against the referring affiliate.

**Merchant ID** ( default: Empty; PRO )

Your numeric ShareASale merchant ID. Nothing is tracked until it is set.

**Include line items in the sale report** ( default: Off; PRO )

Sends each item’s SKU, price and quantity with the order total, so you can set up per-product commissions.

**Convert amounts to the checkout currency** ( default: Off; PRO )

Reports totals in the currency the shopper checked out with instead of your base currency. Only for stores that use currency conversion.

![Every setting: one box per tag, plus order sources and store activity.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-every-setting-607.jpg)

### Order sources

Where each order came from: a search, an ad, a newsletter, or an AI assistant such as ChatGPT

**Record where orders come from** ( default: On )

Notes the referring site and campaign tags when a shopper arrives and saves them on the order: a search, an ad, a newsletter, or an AI assistant such as ChatGPT. The orders list and Reports show each order’s source.

**With a cookie banner, wait for** ( default: Marketing consent )

While you ask shoppers first, or a plugin that supports the WP Consent API is active, nothing is recorded until the shopper gives this consent. In the EU and the UK this record usually needs consent.

**Ignore visits from these sites** ( default: Empty )

One site per line. A shopper coming back from one of these is never counted as a new source. Your own site and the payment pages ( PayPal, Stripe, Square, Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, Amazon Pay and card checks ) are already ignored, so add only others, such as your bank’s card check page.

![What your Reports count: order sources and store activity.](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/11/analytics-and-ads-settings-reports-607.jpg)

> **💡 Note:** Sources show on the orders list, on each order and in Reports. Step by step: [How to Find Your Best Products, Customers and Sources](https://docs.wpeasycart.com/docs/how-to-guides/how-to-find-your-best-products-customers-and-sources/).

### Store activity

Daily counts of product views, add to cart, visits, checkout steps and searches for Reports

**Count store activity for Reports** ( default: On )

Counts product views, add to cart, visits, checkout steps and searches each day for Reports. Only daily totals are kept, nothing about who viewed or searched. While you ask shoppers first, views and searches count only after the shopper allows statistics, and visits only where order sources are recorded. Add to cart and checkout steps always count.

**Keep daily counts for** ( default: 2 years )

90 days, 1 year, 2 years or 5 years. Older days are deleted each night. Orders, payments and refunds are never deleted.

> **⚠️ Careful:** **Clear store activity** deletes every daily count, and Reports start counting again from today. Orders are not touched. To check counting, use **Open the store activity check** in a private window: store admins signed in to WordPress are never counted.
